Data Scope and Limitations
Here you can find the real scope and limits of which sources, which methods, and under which conditions Panalora works -- everything you should know before making a brand monitoring decision. A method being available in the system does not mean it is switched on for every brand; methods are enabled per brand.
Supported platforms and methods
- X: Keyword and account tracking, via the official API. Search only reaches back 7 days.
- Instagram: Mention, comment, and supported hashtag tracking via a connected account, via the official API. Where enabled, keyword/hashtag discovery also runs through an external provider (Apify); content found this way that cannot be verified is set aside for manual review.
- YouTube: Keyword, channel, and comment tracking (official API, quota-limited).
- Facebook: A Facebook Page you manage can be connected; collecting the Page's content is not available yet. General Facebook keyword search (searching public posts/comments at large) is not offered.
- TikTok: Keyword and hashtag video searches through an independent provider tool on Apify -- not TikTok's official API. Video and photo posts are collected; comments, video transcripts, or on-screen text are not. Results are limited to what the provider returns.
- LinkedIn: Keyword searches, queries that search a hashtag as text, posts of accounts you follow, and comments on posts you choose -- through independent provider tools on Apify, not LinkedIn's official API. Account mentions and comment replies are not collected; full coverage of LinkedIn is not claimed.
- Google Business: Two separate methods:
- Live business details (Google Places): shown only on request; under Google's terms they are not stored, and no archive or rating history is built.
- Customer review tracking (Apify): the business's reviews are collected newest first and stored. If a run reaches its result limit, the older period stays incomplete and is shown as a gap; completing it takes a separate run. Google Business monitoring depends on system configuration and is not enabled on every account.
- Web: News and web content monitoring via Google Alerts/RSS feeds, a shared web source pool (a pre-crawled pool of sources for companies in the same sector), and optional, paid external search.
Required access
- X, YouTube: official API access is configured on the system side.
- Instagram: the official-API methods need a connected Instagram account, set up through the dashboard.
- Facebook: connections can only be made for Page(s) you manage yourself, with Page-admin permission.
- TikTok, LinkedIn, Google Business, and paid external web search: these use paid providers; they are enabled per brand and run within monthly budgets and job limits.
- Web/RSS: generally no additional authorization is required; sources are publicly available RSS/Alerts feeds.
Monitoring frequency, date ranges, and delays
Panalora does not monitor any source in real time. Each method is checked at its own regular interval; new content is picked up on the next check cycle, so there can be a short delay between when something is published and when it appears in the system.
A date range can be chosen for the first scan and for manual scans, but date support varies by method: some providers accept dates in the query, some only offer fixed presets, some are filtered by each item's own date after arrival, and some cannot reach back at all (for example, X search covers only the last 7 days). Because of result and page limits, full coverage of a range is not guaranteed.
Missing text or date situations
Some external web sources (especially third-party sites) may not always reliably provide the full article text or publication date. In such cases, Panalora proceeds with the partial information it has (such as a title or summary); it never guesses a missing field. Dates are consistently recorded in UTC, even when a source publishes in a different time zone.
Analysis conditions
Eligible content is evaluated by AI: a relevance score filters out content unrelated to your brand, and sentiment analysis classifies content as positive/negative/neutral. Analysis depends on quota and analysis rules: it can wait when the quota is used up; unverified candidate content is set aside for manual review and is not analyzed automatically; Google Business reviews are not sent to AI analysis. Analysis results are the output of a probabilistic model and carry no guarantee of 100% accuracy.
Unsupported or limited features
- Facebook: General keyword search and Page content collection (beyond connecting a Page).
- LinkedIn: Account mentions and comment replies.
- TikTok: Comments and video content analysis.
- Google Business: Storing live Places details or an automatic rating history.
- All platforms: No guarantee of complete or fully retroactive coverage.
- Paid external web search: Off by default; enabled separately.
- Full English dashboard experience: The public site is also offered in English; a full English localization of the logged-in dashboard is a separate, not-yet-completed effort.
